Moving checklist for Dubai: before you shift

Moving in Dubai is smoother when you tick a few boxes before the big day. Use this checklist so nothing is left to the last minute.

Weeks before

• Book a free survey with your movers and get a fixed quote.
• Confirm your move-in and move-out dates with both buildings.
• Apply for move-in permission at your new building (many require 3–5 days).
• Book the service elevator at both buildings (often 3–4 working days in advance).

Days before

• Confirm the move date and time with your moving company.
• Pack or label items you are not having packed by the movers.
• Set aside valuables and documents to move yourself.
• Notify DEWA and other utilities if you are changing address.

On the day

• Be on site for handover and to answer any access questions.
• Do a final walk-through at the old and new property with the team.
